Welcome home mum!

I came back over the weekend, after a trip to see the family, having left Si and the boys home alone. My boys all missed me! There's nothing like knowing you're loved. As soon as I walked in the front door they were pingig around, jumping at the bars bruxing and happy, desperately fighting each other over who would get the first cuddle. I was mobbed as soon as I opened the door. Even Mallow, Riff and Mumble wanted huggles, with Riff sneaking out surreptuously and climbing on to my lap.

Boy, I sure love having rats :)

All not well in the Vermin Realm

Pedlar mouse is very very poorly. He has a severe outbrak of mites which just won't clear up with treatment, an eye-infection which is weeping white fluid and has swollen up realy sore looking, plus his chest is so bad that he can barely breathe. I don't think his prognosis is good at all. I'd be surprised if we didn't have to have him pts this week.

Wu mouse has another facial abcess which has caused him to look very deformed, he now has a head-tilt and is probably blind as well as being deaf in one ear (it's filled up one of his ears) - it's treatable though, he's had it before and got better and he's still his normal happy self, so fingers crossed...

Riff has a lump under one of his armpits

Mumble's foot was bitten by Riff and one of his toes has swollen up to twice it's size...

Mallow's very old and thin...

Pocket has a very severe outbreak of mites...

Cobway has a persistant Sniffle...

Dobby has a very rattly chest...

So basically, Toga, Piggy and Timmy mouse are the only 3 in good health at the moment - and Piggy has a head tilt!!!

Mumble in da House

yeah, I know - another one. Bringing my current total of rats now to 8. Eight. I've never had it so good!
You can't resist Mumble. It is actually physically impossible. He's a totally loveable little chap - a baby rat with early signs of greatness, in an Arthurian kind of way. And he's scarily like Stitch - and I know there are people who swing by this blog who know who Stitch is. Also known as Snitch, if you're familiar with my cartoons. But Mumble isn't a naughty rat. He is without a doubt a very clever rat. He has a presence that is hard to describe. Except when he's being directly threatened, he has a very definite inner calmness.
Suffice to say, Riff has been knocking seven bells out of him.
